Stained glass artist Amy Valuck began her apprenticeship in stained glass restoration and conservation in 1998, and has continued to work professionally in the field, launching her own studio in 2014. While developing her skills as a craftsman and conservator working on historical windows from churches and public buildings, she supplemented her technical knowledge and design skills through private study in glass painting and fusing, producing artwork for commissions and exhibitions. Having a background in historical work, and a love of experimentation, her work combines aspects of both the old and the new. She specializes in highly detailed traditional glass-painting techniques, inspired by botanical illustration and traditional decorative arts from around the world. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, with a degree in Jewelry and Metals, she is committed to executing the highest level of craftsmanship, and constantly exploring new design territory.
