For the last thirteen years, Minori Thorpe’s main hobby has been ceramics. It was a way for her to escape the stressful environment of being a Nurse Anesthetist.
She has enjoyed the different aspects of clay such as creating different forms, experimenting with glazes and alternative firing methods. Every time she opens the kiln it is with both anxiety and excitement. There is always the possibility of perfect results, happy accidents, and big disappointments. This is exactly what has drawn Minori into the field of ceramics and since retiring, she is now a full time ceramicist.
