Carrying on a century long family tradition in ceramics, Patricia Tolton became a tile and mosaic artist. Her ancestors immigrated from England, settling in what was then the pottery capitol of the U.S., Ohio. Her interest first started in collecting ceramics from the potteries where her family worked. Collecting led to ceramics classes. In the early 1990’s Patricia started classes at the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works in Doylestown Pa.
Patricia, with a degree in Horticulture and having owned her own landscape business for twenty years, has an intimate knowledge of the natural world. With a family heritage firmly rooted in the Arts and Crafts Movement, Patricia’s work is all handcrafted in her Downingtown Pa studio. There she combines her experience as a landscape designer and family history to create her modern version of Arts and Crafts tile.
The very nature of what artists do means that the vast majority of their works are one of a kind pieces. Please visit us in the gallery to see pieces that are still available for purchase
