Richard Pryke is a retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel that served for 24 years in the Army Aviation and Intelligence Service followed by an additional 12 years as a Defense Contractor. He is also a Vietnam Veteran. He owed his own business as a Licensed General Contractor for over 25 years having built over 600 homes. After retiring in January 2016, looking for a new challenge, he decided to take up Lapidary Arts while at his home in Sun City, Arizona. This is where he developed his skills to make the beautiful cabochons. He was definitely hooked so upon returning to Delaware, he purchased all the necessary equipment to build his own lapidary shop and has already made well over 400 cabochons in all shapes. He is a “high energy” guy that constantly challenges himself to learn and develop new knowledge and skills by reading books and taking on-line and in-school classes. Richard makes pendants using his cabochons and also enjoys making jewelry out of silver and copper.
Richard lives in Bear, DE with his wife Patti and their two puppies Dexter and Sammy.
