What is pysanky?
Beautiful and intricate designs are created by writing with melted beeswax on an eggshell using a stylus called a “kistka”. The shell is dipped in dye and the process is repeated. The wax is melted in the final step to reveal the design in a process similar to batik. Many artists varnish the artwork to seal the design. All pysanky made at the worshop will be emptied of contents.
