Italic Calligraphy for Beginners: Class 2 – Adding Capitals & The Slant 

with Patti Paulus, Calligrapher 

You’ve been asking for it and now here it is – A Calligraphy Workshop! I’ve been a calligrapher for almost 40 years and am passionate about sharing my love for beautiful letters!!! In this class you will learn the foundation of creating calligraphic italic letters. And you don’t have to have good handwriting to learn calligraphy! The workshop focus will be on lower case italic letters written with a broad edged tool. Each student can expect to receive several exemplars (letterform templates), a notebook and the opportunity to communicate with Patti after the class for additional help. Calligraphic writing tools will be available for your use with an option to purchase at the end of the workshop. 

Actively working as a lettering artist since 1982, Patti practices calligraphy as an art-form and uses hand-rendered letterforms in her graphic design work.  She also paints, draws, is a bookmaker, and her love of charcoal opens up fresh avenues of expression for her. 

Level: Must have taken a Capitals Class and an Italic lowercase class.
